Hi!
Just turned in my third 24 hour urine and it was about 1500cc I think when the others were significantly more. The nurse said she wasn't sure that was so great. I think the others were like 2500? Numbers may be off a bit but it was a reduction and she was concerned. Does anyone know about this?

Output should pretty much match up with your intake...so did you only drink about 1500ml yesterday?
My drs didn't start to get really concerned until I hit around 300ml per day. |

If the amount you drink hasn't changed, it could mean that you are starting to retain fluids. That happens in a lot of pregnancies and isn't necessarily worrisome -- they've taken swelling off the diagnostic criteria -- but if you're also seeing a rise in protein or pressures it can mean your kidneys are stressed by the pregnancy.

i have had higher slowly rising pressures (158/98 last night) with an average lately of 140-145 over 90s... and +1 protein today, 24 hour urine proteins under 400. I have and have had swelling in my hands and today isnt great but not too bad in my feet...Both the rn and arnp said they were concerned about the decrease in urine and hope that my proteins were not also rising too much. The good news is that the I will be 37 weeks on Sunday and they plan on taking the baby either Saturday or Monday. If my labs and 24 hour urine are bad, maybe tomorrow.
Tracey, I don't know what my input was as I did it at home and they haven't had me record the intake.

I didn't know this. I would only produce 500mL for the 24 hr urines. When I was in the hospital on bedrest I remember they made me measure my inputs and outputs (that was a pain). In the end my kidneys were shutting down so they had to deliver me. |
