Patrick Dignan
Patrick Dignan previously served on the Board of Directors of the Preeclampsia Foundation from 2005-2006, as the organization’s Treasurer. He holds a BA in Economics from Rutgers University and an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He currently works as Managing Director, head of Market Risk Management, at TD Securities (USA), the broker-dealer subsidiary of Toronto Dominion Bank Financial Group (TDBFG). Prior, Mr. Dignan held various Finance positions on Wall Street, at institutions including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Mr. Dignan’s first wife, Donna, died from the effects of severe preeclampsia and HELLP Syndrome, weeks after giving birth to the couple’s twin sons in 1997. Mr. Dignan and his family reside in Basking Ridge, NJ.

Carol Hamilton, PharmD
Dr. Carol Hamilton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Florida in 1989 then received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1994. She then completed a post-doctoral fellowship in infectious disease. Dr. Hamilton worked as the Director of Training and Education for a pharmacy-based company and traveled to hospitals around the country training pharmacists and other hospital staff on the implementation of antibiotic management programs and tracking systems for antimicrobial resistance in their institutions. Personally, she experienced a sudden onset of severe preeclampsia in her first pregnancy, which resulted in the loss of her daughter. Midway through her second pregnancy Dr. Hamilton stepped down from her pharmacy position and is now a full-time mother to Lexie and Zachary. She and her husband live in Naples, Florida. She has served as a Board Director since 2004.

Erik Henrikson, MBA
Erik Henrikson earned an engineering BS degree from Texas A&M University in 1993 and an MBA from Northeastern University in 2005. He is currently a software engineer at EMC Corporation in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Mr. Henrikson and his wife experienced preeclampsia in both their second and third pregnancies. Although their second child was born at 31 weeks, all three of their children, as well as his wife, are now healthy. After finding the foundation during their last pregnancy in 2005, he became an active volunteer on the forums. Mr. Henrikson has been on the board since 2008.

Richard C. Proctor Jr., MBA
Richard C. Proctor, Jr., Treasurer of the Board of Directors, is the Chief Executive Officer of Glenveigh Pharmaceuticals. Glenveigh is a biotech company focused on obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine. The company initiated and is supporting a Phase 2 efficacy study of Digibind® for severe preeclampsia. Mr. Proctor joined Glenveigh in 2005 after 14 years with GlaxoSmithKline in Research Triangle Park, NC, most recently as the Director of US Business Development and Lifecycle Marketing. He was also involved with the Glaxo Wellcome charitable foundation. His background includes senior roles in project management, business development, marketing, and corporate finance. He attended Darlington School, Emory University (BBA), Wake Forest University (MBA), and has received many awards for his scholarship, leadership, and career success. This is his first year as a Board Director.

Beth Schimel, PharmD.
Dr. Beth Schimel received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin in 1985. She then received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1994 from University of Illinois-Chicago. She has practiced as a clinical pharmacist at a level-one trauma center in the ICU. She also was the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator at a community hospital in the Milwaukee area. Dr Schimel moved to a position in the Pharmaceutical Industry in 1998. She has practiced as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), a Training & Development director, and currently manages 11 MSLs across the 22 Western States. She and her husband live in New Berlin, WI (a suburb of Milwaukee). She and her husband enjoy travelling, especially to different wine regions in the US. She has served on the Board of Directors for Easter Seals of SE WI since 2007 and has recently been named to the board of the Preeclampsia Foundation.

John Warner
John Warner and his wife, Brenda, own and operate a family farm in eastern Iowa that has been in Mrs. Warner’s family for nearly 140 years. He is also employed at Kraft Foods in the maintenance department. Mr. Warner has been a member of the local Lions Club for 15 years, holding various positions within the club, including President. Mr. Warner has been an active volunteer with the Preeclampsia Foundation since January 2005 when his daughter, Shelly Bridgewater, 25, lost her life due to complications from severe preeclampsia/HELLP Syndrome one week after the birth of her daughter, his first grandchild. The Warners have another daughter, Kimberly. This is his first year as a Board Director.

Leslie Weeks, JD, LLM
Leslie Weeks, President of the Board of Directors, received a law degree from the University of Alabama in 1999 and an LL.M in taxation from New York University in 2000. Ms. Weeks has been with the firm of Helmsing, Leach, Herlong, Newman, & Rouse, P.C. in Mobile, Alabama since 2000, and practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, general taxation, and business. Ms. Weeks became involved with the Foundation in 2003 after losing her first son to preeclampsia, and now serves as the Acting Executive Director. Her second pregnancy, also impacted by preeclampsia, resulted in a beautiful, healthy and almost full-term baby boy. She has served on the Board of Directors since 2004.
